Examination Rules / Regulations »»

 
Examination Centres
  The Institute's examinations may be held in the following centres: Lagos, Abuja, Enugu, Bauchi, Abeokuta, Port-Harcourt and Kano. A new centre will be created when students population justifies it. NIPR reserves the right to create new centres or merge old ones.
   
Examination Dates
  NIPR examinations are held twice a year, in May/June and in November / December. Entry closes May 15 and November 15 of each year. Students are advised to send their completed examination forms and examination fees before the specified dates to the Registrar at the Secretariat.
   
Cancellation of Examination Entry
  Examination fees are non-refundable. A student who is unable to sit for the examination for which he is registered on medical grounds, and who has notified NIPR two weeks before the date of the examination, may have the fees transferred to the next examination after deducting the administrative charge. The balance will be paid by the student before he or she is allowed to take the examination. A sick student must produce a medical report from a Government Hospital.
   

Supervision Fee

  The administrator of the examination on behalf of the institute will charge a supervision fee.
   
Postponement
  NIPR reserves the right to fix an examination date or postpone the examinatio and fix a new date if such a measure is deemed necessary.
   
Change of Syllabus
  NIPR reserves the right to update, amend, alter or publish a new syllabus in order to keep abreast with current development.
   
Cancellation of exam paper
  NIPR reserves the right to cancel or postpone an examination paper if it is convinced that such measure is necessary.
   
Student inability to sit for an examination
  If a student has registered and paid for an examiantion but is unable to sit for his paper within the prescribed time due to no fault of the student, or because the institute cancelled the paper or withdrew it. NIPR will grant the student a free entry into a subsequent examination, provided teh student has completed examiantion form indicating when he or she wants to sit for the examination.
   
Examination Form
  For each examination, the student must complete an examination form which is available at a fee.
   
Examination Result
  Notification of results is sent to each student about 16 weeks after the end of the last subject in each examination.
   
  The Grades awarded are structured as follows:
 
A Distinction
B Very Good
C Good
D Pass
F Fail
   
Referrals
  A candidate who fails in any subject may resit the subject failed. The decision of NIPR is final, and NIPR will not enter into any correspondence with any student as to the decision taken.
   
Enforcement of Regulation
  The condition under which NIPR students are registered is that they have accepted the rules and regulations and they hae agreed to comply with the regulations in force from time to time. NIPR decision on any issue connected with its examinations is final and will not be challenged by the student.
   
Settlement of Disputes
 

All disputes should in the first instance be referred to the Registrar of the Institute for a decision.

 

A final appeal can be made to the President of the Institute if students are not satisfied with the decision taken by the Registrar.
