All candidates who wish to sit for the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations examinations must be registered as student members of the Institute. |

| Benefits of Student Registration |
| |
| a) |
Students have the right to sit for NIPR Examinations for three years after paying examination fees for each examination. |
| b) |
All NIPR students will receive free identity cards. If lost, a replacement fee is charged. |
| c) |
All registered students are entitled to a free copy of every edition of NIR Students' Newsletter. |
| d) |
Information Service is provided to all students. |
| e) |
Free Use of reference library facilities |
| f) |
Students can register in the NIPR School |
| g) |
Graduating Students will be issued befitting certificates. |
| h) |
Student may attend students' meetings |
| i) |
Graduating students will participate in the prestigious NIPR Convocation. |

| Professional Certificate Examinations |

| |
Minimum Entry Requirements |
| |
One or a combination of the following: |
| |
| 1) |
A recognised University degree in social sciences, arts and humanities or any other discipline. Exemption on a subject basis may be granted in relevant papers which degree holders may have written for their degree examinations at the discretion of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations. |
| 2) |
Professional Certificate / Diploma from accredited institutions. |
| 3) |
BEEC Foundation Examination in Public Relations with passes in three subjects. |
| 4) |
GCE "A" Level in at least two subject provided credit in English has been obtained at "O" Level or WASC, or SSS III Examination. |
| 5) |
Grade II Teachers' Certificate with at least five merits including English Language or its equivalent. English Literature or General Paper is not a substitute for English Language. |
| 6) |
ND or HND. |
| 7) |
Mature students with at least ten years of Public Relations experience. |
| 8) |
London Chambers of Commerce Higher Stage passes in three other subjects which may be Public Relations. |
| 9) |
WASC, GCE "O" Level, SSS III with credits in five subjects including English Language. |

| Professional Diploma Examination |

| |
Minimum Entry Requirements |
| |
| 1) |
Holders of the Professional Certificate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations may proceed to sit for the Diploma Examination. |
| 2) |
Holders of the Professional Certificate in Communication Studies. |
| 3) |
Holders of London CAM Certificate in Communication Studies. |
| 4) |
Holders of a Degree or HND in Mass Communication. |
| 5) |
Degrees in Public Relations, Mass Communication and Marketing obtained from any approved university, exemption may be granted in relevant papers which a degree holder may have written for his degree at the discretion of the institute. |
